Hello my lovelies and Happy Friday! I'm back and with a recipe too! I know it's been a while since I've shared any with you but the summer has kept me busy outdoors and usually very far away from the kitchen. But I'm back and watched to share a new favourite with you... Orzo! Ok … Continue reading Today we make Orzo Rainbow Salad
What does it mean to be a woman? . Fierce. Vulnerable. Scared. Bold. Heart wrenching. Heart aching. Heart opening. Tough. Weak. Feminine. Masculine. Strong. Delicate. Multitasker. Motherly. Independent. . A question we asked ourselves multiple times last night. What does it mean to you?
Know that it's ok. It's ok to laugh and smile for no reason. It's ok if you feel like you need to cry. It's ok to eat 6 doughnuts, Or steamed broccoli. It's ok to spend the day watching TV, Or cleaning your cupboard. It's ok to dream. Dream big. It's ok to let your heart swell. It's ok to let yourself hope. Know that's it's all ok.
#sustainableswapmondays . . Taking it back to old school napkins. I've had these bits of fabric leftover from a craft project last year and am inspired to make them into napkins over the next month (hopefully with the help of gran!). . On holiday this month we saw the hotel use all bits of leftover cloth to create the cutest coasters too. . Hoping this will cut down our use of paper disposable napkins. . @the_lovely_catalyst has an amazing alternative too! . As always let us know about your sustainable swaps!
Love day everyday. . Don't get me wrong I'm not against valentine's Day but I enjoy celebrating love everyday! Random acts of kindness, dinners, flowers, date nights whenever you want them. Why limit it to one day? . But more importantly when do you take yourself on a date? . Pamper yourself, dance in the kitchen, cook your favourite meal, have a bath, paint or watch a movie. . Today I have lost my voice and have spent the week on the sofa... Hubby is out with his cousins and feeling the love from every direction. Whilst I'm treating myself to a day of painting and feeling the love even if I am alone. . So here's a little note for anyone that needs it... Remember you are loved. But more importantly you ARE LOVE. . Treat yourself today and everyday 💕
#sustainableswapmondays coming at you through the blistery winds and rains. . We're staying on the theme of cleaning. Cleaning products can so often be a huge area of plastic bottles, harmful chemicals and disposable wipes. . I remember using cleaning products that made me reach for my inhaler straight away. I'd open all the windows and hate the strong smell it left behind. Not only is the smell bad for us but the chemicals are bad for the environment too. . Here's an experiment... Head to your cleaning cupboard and see how many products have the symbol shown in the second picture. . What does that symbol mean? Well it means that the product is harmful to aquatic life with lasting affects. . And what do we use the product for... Cleaning most of our surfaces and bathroom with most of it going down the drains into our rivers and seas... Aka where all the aquatic life likes to hang out. . Its insane! . But you can save yourself some money and save the fishes by making your own cleaner. . All you need is equal parts vinegar and water with a few drops of essential oils. . Check out @the_lovely_catalyst for her cleaning solution recipe. There's a gorgeous one in her stories.
Bonus #sustainableswapmondays . . Do you make your own coffee at home with ground coffee beans? . Ever wondered what to do with the coffee after? . Well wonder no more... . *Coffee body scrub* . This is super simple to make (just use old class jars you have around the house). . 1/4 cup ground coffee leftovers. 1/8 cup coconut oil (melted but not too hot). 1/4 salt (I used Epsom salt but you can use coconut sugar too). Added extra is to add a few drops of essential oil (I used lemon as I loved the smell). . Mix well and leave to solidify. . Use in the shower to scrub your skin to beautiful softness. . Honestly this is my husband's favourite scrub and often pesters me to remake it once it's run out. . Let me know if you try it out.
