“Always look forward to practicing with you! Such a great instructor and always carefully thought out sessions where you can really challenge yourself or just go with the flow! Thank you for helping me be the best yogi I can be”
#sustainableswapmondays abroad. . Ok so firstly I acknowledge that "sustainability" and "travel" do not go. Yes I know it's not in line but as I always say... We need lots of people doing something instead of 5 perfect people. . When we travel we try to find places that align with us... We explore local cultures, fall madly in love with mother nature all over again (even when she's cyclon-ing) and try reduce our footprint when in the country! . We found the incredible @saltresorts who are committed to sustainability down to the smallest things! . The tea and coffee in your room is lose... They have paper eco friendly tea bags you can fill yourself (therefore removing plastic tea bag waste). . There's no tiny toiletries! Instead there's beautiful refillable clay pots which are not only beautiful but a clever way to remove throwing away half used soap bars. . Water is always a big issue when travelling! But here every person is given a refillable water bottle and there's refill taps in the hotel so you can just top up whenever you need to. . The chef is incredible!! He used coffee to help his compost and regrows his off cuts... Ginger, rosemary, parsley etc... Using small bits of land around the hotel. Genius. . And that's only a handful of the things... I could go on 🌿
Dear Ocean, Thank you. . . (Painting joys on the beach)
Learning to dance in the rain. . If you're feeling in a rut and like nothings going to plan then I'm feeling you... Sometimes you plan life out but life has other plans for you instead... It's about learning to dance in the rain instead. . My husband and I booked this holiday as a break from all my endometriosis and health troubles of 2019... But somehow my period was delayed and I ended up coming on on the flight. . Ok so I know I could have taken the pill but I'm trying really hard to understand and work with my body instead. Anyone else trying to find this balance?! . Secondly we've got here and a huge tropical storm has just hit the island... Literally reminding me that you have to learn to go with the flow. . So what now? Well... We've got some great books and a deck of cards, oh and my paints! . So if you're feeling frustrated and annoyed at plans not working then I feel ya... But also using it as a learning opportunity... Can you really slow down and just be?
#sustainableswapmondays . . One day late but today we talk about everyday use of straws... . So here are some tips if you're looking to swap out some plastic... . 1) Enjoy the drink without a straw! . 2) Use a bamboo or metal straw which you can wash and reuse. . 3) Turn it into a smoothie bowl, add some granola and use a spoon! 😏. . 4) and finally if you're one of the genetically gifted individuals then roll your tongue into a straw and use that... 😂. . Ok so that final one is a bit of a joke but you get the idea... . Follow @the_lovely_catalyst for a view of her bamboo straws or even the one in my story.
Something magical happens when people come together. . That support, connection and space we have for others is just something so beautiful. . Last night was the first of my monthly *CONNECT* meet-ups. . We meditated, journaled, gave thanks and set intentions. It was an hour that flew by and I know everyone could have sat for much longer. Everyone left feeling lighter and clearer. . Connect's aim is to be a community space for everyone. To come meet new people, to share or just to come and listen. . I didn't take a single photo as I really wanted to respect the safe space but thank you to everyone who came. . Keep your eyes peeled for more dates and events.
Bed time routine. . We're revisiting our childhood bedtime routine and loving it! . TV goes off by 8.30pm latest (no matter how good Netflix might be). We tidy, shower and then climb into bed by 9pm. . Leaving us lots of time to meditate and read a book. . Having screen free time before bed is so so important... It allows your mind to wind down from the constant stimulation from emails, social media and messages and enjoy some time to read or even just talk. . If you've been struggling to keep a daily practice or even find time to wind down then check out my new online modules- we discuss meditation, mindfulness and creating space for you! . Link in the bio. 🌟 . P.s. I'm laughing at the start of the meditation because my husband imitates my voice 😂
